As promised, I wanted to show you something Bob purchased and transformed to work with his G-Scale Train Engine. This was totally inspired from something we heard another G-Scale Train Lover had done. We heard every year these two awesome people named Steve & Danielle have a party and with their layout, the train carries little drinks for everyone at the party. LOL
Bob and I love going to thrift stores and one day spotted this cute little train car that holds two bottles and mini shot glasses. Bob purchased it and rushed home and fixed it up so we could pull it behind our train. Here are some pics:
Bob was able to go out one warm fall night and snap some more evening photos. We purchased some Christmas type lights to put in the tree's in the layout. The photo's do not do it justice. Enjoy!

Winona Garden Railway Open House 11-17-12 Royal City Model Railroaders Home Layout Tour
It was Saturday morning and Bob had his checklist ready. He has been looking forward to this day since John at Winona Garden Railway told him there would be an open house (part of the Royal City Model Railroaders Home Layout Tour) and he would have his chance to run his trains for the day. This time I decided not to go, I'm not big on cooler temps and I knew Bob would want to stay a long while, besides I had some other things around the house I could take care of, so it was all good. (GRIN)
He headed off early in the morning and by the time he got there around 10am, the parking area was filled as people had started showing up at 9am.
He walked in and was checking out who was running trains on the layout and met a gentleman named Dennis. Bob found out Dennis was "Garnet's" brother. You might remember Bob created a brewery and named it after Garnet -- see Blog Entry for Brewery (CLICK HERE) Dennis was running a few trains of his own which included: OPP Train & Garnet's fav. locomotive known as Winona Power Funeral Train. Dennis was quite aware of our G-Scale Train Blog, so Bob was quite thrilled with that.
Bob then met someone named Rick who recognized Bob from our Train Blog. LOL Bob was feeling famous!! Rick was running a ATLIN LINE locomotive. They spoke a bit about model making, making things out of wood paticularly the wooden bridge -- see Blog Entry for Bridge (CLICK HERE) .
He met some more people, but he is very sorry, he forgot everyone else's names. LOL Of Course John was there running his Steam Locomotive (I fell in love with it the last time I was up there, so once we get all these vet bills taken care of (omg, that's a totally other story, the three kittens we took on last year have become so very ill with some sort of blood disorder -- they are being tested for everything and it seems to come back inconclusive yet they are producing ghost red blood cells and a whole muck of other stuff is going on......... please say a prayer for them or send postive vibes our way, we want our babies all better.) and then maybe we can save up for one of these beauties (Steam Locomotive).
Bob decided he would start to run his train for a while, 6 hours later his batteries ran out. He was running his SD70 (4 hours). He brought GP38 but found there wasn't enough pulling power for everything he was towing, so then he decided to run his NW2 (1 hour) That extra hour for was chatting with people, eating donuts and drinking coffee. LOL He has a blast he said. It was a beautiful day to run trains.
Here are some photos he took from that day.
Stay tuned, I have more piccies to post next weekend - to show you something Bob fixed up to use with his train set. Danielle & Steve inspired us BIG time with this, that when we walked into a thrift store and spotted this, it was instantly purchased!! teehee
