One of my favourite events of the year!!!
I charged up all my batteries, wrote out my shopping list, loaded up my locomotives and I was off to Gueph to an Open House at Winona Garden Railway to spend the day running trains with some old friends on GARNIE'S DAY
When I arrived there was only one train on the line so I was able to place my SD70 & GP38 on the large outside loop. Surveying the freight cars I instantly knew what I hook-up to and pull. Last year I burned my batteries out one locomotive at a time pulling 12 coal ore cars around. This year there was 22 of them!!! With my fresh batteries and 20 wheels of pulling power I felt like a railway god pulling them all through the yard, down by the edge of the miniature town, behind the dwarf trees, around the pond, up the hill and over the giant bridges. Eventually more guest with trains arrived and feeling I had proved my worth, I surrendered the ore cars and the outside loop and spent the rest of my time taking pictures, chatting with friends and purchasing railway supplies (screws, track pins and a couple switch points).
I had brought up several lawn chairs which soon became a big hit since no one enjoys standing for several hours straight. I had never seen so many people visit the layout and so many different trains. By the end of the day the temptation of the used train table got the better of me... but I'll save that story for another time.
Of course I brought "the girls" for a photo shoot.

Up Shiltz Creek in G-Scale Land - Part 2 Waterfalls - 06-01-13

Up Shiltz Creek - Part 2 Waterfalls
(Girls Want To Have Fun 3)
Last week I talked about building the lower and upper creeks. Placing a rock here, digging a hole there, running that hose behind this and hiding the extension cord under that. As Mary's Uncle Tommy would say, "Where are the pictures of it complete?!"
To feature the new waterfalls I enlisted the help of the 'bikini babes' (Since the last time I photographed the girls they hired a talent agent and I had to sign a release form and pay them $100 each for the photo shoot).
When I looked at the pictures afterwards, I was amazed at how the water looks like icicles. Enjoy!
