Happy Easter from G-Scale Land 03-31-13

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! It's been a while since we have posted about G-Scale Land. Bob's remote for the trains decided to stop working and we sent it away and approx. 3 months later it returned. We weren't too happy. Something that was suppose to be covered under warranty ended up costing us $30.00 US - how does that work again? :( Anyways, remote back in hand, Bob was a happy camper. He decided to get working on another building for the layout.

Remember this entry? BLOG ENTRY OF WHAT BOB RECEIVED FOR CHRISTMAS 2010

Bob received some Fisher Price Buildings from some internet friends of my mom back in 2010 - Gerry and Doug - well, Bob finally got around to finishing his first building. He took a Fisher Price Little People School House and transformed it into a beautiful church! We love going to Thrift Stores and found a unique piece that would be perfect for the top of the church. With a little painting and wiring, Bob transformed this Toy into a work of art for G-Scale Land. With the warmer weather approaching, we'll be able to move some plants around its location and add a little cemetery behind it. Can't wait!! Maybe when we get around to creating our little miniature "Stephie the Ghost Guide" she will have a Ghost Hunting Tour hang around the church. LOL!!! ;)

Enjoy the photos and hope you and your family and friends have a wonderful blessed EASTER!

  1. Spring tune ups of my G scale engines have so far led to some strange results. Yesterday I was unable to get my new NW-2 from USA trains running at all. I think the lights cam on once, but I was unable to reproduce that. I know the power supply and wiring work, as I test ran my 0-6-0 from USA trains. Works well and operates correctly.

Next I tried my newest RS-3 CP 6448 (guessing the number. I have three lets say 6448 6442 and 6248. This new low mileage unit was test run last fall. It would only operate one direction. Nothing happening at all on the workbench today. So I brought some more equipment in frm the train shed. One of my TH&B GP-9s, ( 402 or 402) Ran great, but no lights. Two other RS-3s The old one, 6248 which has a revolution chip in it. and 6442 which has a revolution chip in it. Neither worked right. 6442 ran as if it was DC operated. But no lights Then, if I held it still I could get it to detect the control signal from the and report itself as linked, but the wheels still ran as if there was no chip in it. The last one, 6248 was inert. The switches made no apparent contact. I have sprayed them with WD-40, and we will see if it helps. I do want to clean up the wheels on 6442, with the wire brush on the rotary tool. More follow up when I finish napping. Happy Easter.
