As some of you already know, we live in Southern Ontario, Canada in the middle of WINE COUNTRY. This is great for us, but not so good for the G-Scale Train Shopping. Our local hobby store no longer stocks G-Scale, the second closest in Hamilton went out of business. Though, there are several G-scale stores in Ontario the closest, Winona Garden Railway, is an hour away with the others are 2-6 hours away. WGRR not only sells and orders whatever you need, they also repair and install all the bells and whistles you would ever want. John is full of great knowledge when it comes to G-Scale!!! The best part is the large train layout in the backyard that hosts Open Houses every year and is open for you to run a your own train almost whenever you want. Another great thing about the layout is that it is constantly changing and seems different every time you visit. During our latest trip there, John was ripping out the large loop around the big pond (and island) to install at narrow gauge logging route. The pond is a third of its size, the large "Forty-Creek Bridge" had been moved and massive earthworks re-sodding was taking place.
Here is a collection of pictures that both Mary and I took at the end of August. Please click here to see previous visits to compare the changes. We can't wait to see what has transpired when we go back to visit.

Since John was making some changes, he kindly donated some buildings and people for our own layout (they need some TLC, so stay tuned for other blog entries showing those buildings) In the boxes were some figures. Mary could not WAIT to take photos - so she took a few photos of her own.
