Our Visit to Winona Garden Railway - Part 1 - 07-17-2010

Saturday, July 17th, 2010 was Customer Appreciation Day at Winona Garden Railway. Bob and I decided to pay a visit so we could take our GP38 and have the owner John install a sound card and remote control card (including rewiring and lightbulbs being replaced with LED's).

While we were also there Bob decided to bring our SD70 with box car (Battery inside) and drive it around on John's HUGE layout. We took so many video's and pictures, I've decided it would be best to post five photos a day and maybe the odd video. We also brought three of our G-Scale Women to pay a visit to the town and had a photo shoot. You will see them in the following days as we took their photo's after playing with the train.

John was nice enough to let Bob tow some of his rolling stock around the huge layout. His layout IS HUGE, it would take up our WHOLE backyard. Bob thinks it approx. 50 foot x 200 foot layout complete with a huge pond in the middle. Something to strive for. heehee!

Here is our SD70 and our box car beginning its journey.
We really liked the small black rocks that were used with the track, maybe we'll do something like that some day.

This is a photo of John's layout, we are looking towards the pond area. VERY impressive steel bridges are being used, just amazing!!!

Our SD70 is crossing over one of the many bridges in this layout, it's awesome!!!

This bridge is totally crazy!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe one day our layout will be big enough to be able to have a HUGE pond like this. It's so neat it has boats floating around and a cable car!!! There goes our baby over it.
Aiming for tomorrow's entry to post a video of the train going around.
